IL Professional Home Inspection Online Course

This 60-hour Professional Home Inspection Course is offered to students in a distance-learning format. Through online videos, text, images, and activities, students are provided with the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain employment as a home inspector, set up a home inspection company, or add home inspection services to their current offerings. Designed by AHIT’s team of certified and extensively experienced home inspection instructors, students learn about structures, exteriors, roofing, electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling, interiors, and insulation and ventilation. In addition, students will learn what skills it takes to run a business. Upon completion, students will be able to conduct a thorough home inspection from the point of first contact with a customer to providing a completed home inspection report to the client.

Students receive an online user ID and password via email and can access the online course and

study materials through their account. Students are given activities and review questions throughout the course. A final exam at the end of the course must be passed with a minimum score of 75%.

Upon successfully completing the course, graduates receive a certificate of completion that can be printed online. A toll-free number allows students to call instructional staff to discuss topics, tests, and projects, request additional learning information, and discuss the home inspection field.
